Gruner Vetliner is a native white grape of Austria but here we have one from Tulna, Hungary that really delivers. Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc drinkers looking to try something different will want to check this one out.
It has a bright nose of apricots, wet stone, white pepper and just a hint of Tic-Tac shell mintiness. Granny Smith apple takes over the palate right away, but it soon pulls back for outstanding, vibrant lime with a touch of chalk. That white pepper and mint from the nose returns for another round on the surprisingly long finish.
Crisp acidity and a full body make it an excellent summer food wine. Pair with seafood, fried chicken, grilled pork, grilled sausages and wiener schnitzel.
