October Wine Pick: Guy Saget La Petite Perriere Sauvignon Blanc 2012

So refreshing it's a crime... against... thirst? Yeah.

I am absolutely in love with this wine. I’ve contemplated running away with it and starting a new life but have concluded that would just be weird. This is some fantastic Sauvignon Blanc juice from Verdigny and Cher, a commune of two villages in Sancerre, France.

It’s gold in color with a bright intensity. On the nose there’s nectarine, peach and an amazing minerality of limestone. On the palate there’s ripe melon, lemon-lime and wet rock. The tasty finish has lychee nut and a wonderful orange zest.

If I tasted this wine blind I would guess it’s a $22 Sancerre. It’s well under half that price. This is a steal. Drink it up.
